Knit Gerbil Stuffies/Toy

  • Gerbil:

I finally found a patten to make little knitted gerbil stuffies/toys. They are turning out so cute. I have been good reviews. Here are pictures of my first two gerbils. It is a variation on a bunny pattern. Instead of a 6 inch square, I like using a 4 1/2 inch square. I tried 4 inches on the rust colored one. Looks a little small. The white cotton in 4 1/2 inches seems to hold better. I will be making a knitting webpage on how to make these gerbils. What do you think of them. I an planning on selling them at the 2008 American Gerbil Sociey Gerbil Show in May in Nasuha New Hampshire.

I am so glad you found a gerbil pattern. I have been looking for one for a year. I have invented a new knitting device for protecting yarn call the Fibersphere, and it actually looks like a hamster ball, as everyone always lets me know. Today my son and I went to see the movie "Bolt" and the gerbil in the movie is awesome. It reminded me that I needed to find a knitting pattern to make one for a knitting show I am a vendor at in January, and so I hit the ol' internet and there you were. Can you tell me where you found the pattern? Is it copyrighted? Can you share it? Also, the white fuzzy one's you have on your site would even be better, I think they were the mice(?) Let me know so I can get started, since time is short. They are very cute. I do really like the white one. Happy New Year! My web site is thefibersphere.com, in case you want to see what I am talking about. Thank you, Jill;)
